Recently, 11 experts from the Embassy of France in China(Ambassade de France en Chine), the Representative Office of the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment(INRAE), and the Representative Office of the French National Center for Scientific Research in France(CNRS) came to Beijing Forestey University(BFU) for discussion and exchange, and made a field visit to Sino-France Joint Laboratorv for Invasive Forest Pests in Eurasia(LIA) and experimental forest farm. Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Forestry, principal of the Sino-France Joint Laboratory, relevant principal of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of BFU and experts of the Sino-France Joint Laboratory attended the activity.

Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Forestry introduced the college and the main progress and achievements in scientific and technological innovation and international cooperation. He pointed out that the strong combination of higher education and research in forestry between China and France provides support for the construction of "first-class discipline" in BFU and makes great contribution to the promotion of ecological civilization development in our country.

The Chinese director of LIA stressed that both China and France attach great importance to technological innovation in forestry and have carried out a lot of cooperation in forestry. The cooperation not only conforms to the theme of The Times, but also gives full play to their respective advantages. While strongly supporting the construction of "first-class disciplines", it has reinvigorate the cooperation in forestry education and scientific research between two countries.

The Chinese Executive Director of LIA reviewed the background and development of the laboratory. The IT Specialist of the French Embassy in China introduced the framework of China-France scientific research cooperation, Programme CAI Yuanpei, the Sino-France Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, etc.

The delegation visited LIA and had a detailed understanding of brood tree specimens, laboratory infrastructure and relevant research topics. They visited and investigated the experimental forest farm of BFU to have a better understanding of the student cultivation base, breeding varieties, insect pests, monitoring and control means, etc.
