In recent days, Beijing Forestry University engaged in online discussions with Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in the United States. The session was attended by IIT delegates, including officials from their Armour College of Engineering, as well as representatives and faculty from the School of Engineering and College of Science at BFU. The meeting was presided over by the director of the Office for International Relations.
During the meeting, the head of Office for International Relations highlighted that, in line with the shared goal of promoting international education and cultivating outstanding international talents, both universities have enjoyed constructive dialogues and exchanges during the initial phase. Representatives from the School of Technology and College of Science detailed the history, research capabilities, instructional resources, research focuses, and course offerings.
The American representatives introduced the strengths and course offerings of the Armour College of Engineering, commending our university's talent development approaches and unique attributes, while expressing their interest in fostering academic and research partnerships with BFU.
During the discussion, participants agreed to coordinate contacts and align relevant professional courses to further enhance exchanges and collaboration between the two universities and three schools, aiming for significant progress for all parties involved.
IIT is acknowledged as a comprehensive technological university, consistently ranking within the top 100 universities and top 10 technology universities in the United States, as determined by authoritative bodies, and it holds a steady position within the nation's top 10 engineering schools. The Armour College of Engineering has earned ABET accreditation, underscoring its ability to cultivate technologically competitive talents with global recognition.
